I received a call from my mom letting me know that Jane Goodall was coming to UCDavis for a lecture....but it was sold out. I had been watching her website for months but had totally missed it. Unfortunately there was a 200 person wait list. So the next morning I called and they weren't even adding anyone to the wait list. I decided to cut my sign language class and take my chances....somehow "Turks" seem to pull off the impossible. But this was going to be hard. I drove down to Davis all by myself and got there a couple of hours early....and walked up to the box office said "I know it sold out, and there is a super long waiting list, but do you have any tickets?" The girl said she actually had ONE! And that was all she had. So I went in and listened to the most amazing lecture ever...EVER!!!! ........THEN..........I was priveleged to meet her afterward and talk to her and get her autograph!!!! This experience was such a blessing for me. I realize some of her views conflict with mine as far as evolution, but this woman has done so many amazing things for wildlife and people alike.
