My Jane Goodall Experience

I received a call from my mom letting me know that Jane Goodall was coming to UCDavis for a lecture....but it was sold out. I had been watching her website for months but had totally missed it. Unfortunately there was a 200 person wait list. So the next morning I called and they weren't even adding anyone to the wait list. I decided to cut my sign language class and take my chances....somehow "Turks" seem to pull off the impossible. But this was going to be hard. I drove down to Davis all by myself and got there a couple of hours early....and walked up to the box office said "I know it sold out, and there is a super long waiting list, but do you have any tickets?" The girl said she actually had ONE! And that was all she had. So I went in and listened to the most amazing lecture ever...EVER!!!! ........THEN..........I was priveleged to meet her afterward and talk to her and get her autograph!!!! This experience was such a blessing for me. I realize some of her views conflict with mine as far as evolution, but this woman has done so many amazing things for wildlife and people alike. And inspired me to be more involved.
